Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II Has Called EC to listen to the Concern Of Ghanaians and Make Sure Every Citizen is Giving Opportunity to Vote in 2020 Elections

Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana ADAM-GH has pettioned Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama I I Paramount Chief of Dagbong Traditional area at Yendi . Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama after receiving the petition from the Executive secretary of ADAM-GH, called on the Electoral commissioner Madam Jean Mensah to listen to the concern of Ghanaians and not to disenfranchise any citizen the right to vote.

According to  the Paramount Chief of the Dagbong Traditional area Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama, Ghanaians started voting since 1992 and Ghanaians always use existing voter’s ID card as a requirement for new once.

He said the passport and Ghana card has never been our requirement and therefore, this action of the electoral commission can disenfranchise the people of Dagbong. He said this is the responsibility of the electoral commission and not government because the electoral commission is an independent body and must serve the interest of Ghanaians.

The Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama I I made this call when the executives of Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana ADAM-GH paid homage to the Paramount Chief of Dagbong and pettitioned him against the electoral commission on the compilation of new Voter’s Register and the use of Passport and Ghana card as the only requirement.
