3Music CEO Sadiq Abdulai Wins Young Achiever At EMY Africa Awards 2021
Sadiq defeated Farouk Khailann, Mr Eazi, Richie Mensah, and Shadrack Osei Frimpong at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra.
Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu is a media and entertainment executive who has spent the last 16 years working in Ghanaian and African media and entertainment as a media and communications executive, showrunner, TV executive, music executive, and entrepreneur.
Sadiq is the Founder/Managing Director (CEO) of 3 Media Networks Limited, which owns and operates the 3Music music television network, as well as the executive producer of the annual 3Music Awards, the 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch, and the 3Music Fan Festival. Sadiq is the originator of the WILDALAND Festival as well.
Sadiq was previously the Country Director of Africa’s number one music streaming service Boomplay in Ghana, where he oversaw the establishment of the music streaming service’s office, the development of a team, and the acquisition of nearly 7 million Ghanaian and African users, as well as content from every relevant Ghanaian and African talent.
Sadiq has also served as Viasat1 Ghana’s head of programs and own productions/executive producer for Modern Times Group (MTG) AFRICA, where he led the team to win 18 different accolades in a year and a half. Sadiq was also in charge of MTG AFRICA’s operations in Ghana, including the Trace TV pan-African music channel, as well as the Airtel Trace Music Star reality show.
Sadiq is also the co-founder of Muse Africa, a music, lifestyle, and entertainment company aimed at millennials, where he served as the brand’s inaugural CEO from 2015 until 2018. Sadiq also led Muse AFRICA’s active citizenship campaign, #MuseParticipate, in collaboration with Oxfam International, a worldwide non-governmental advocacy organization.
Sadiq has previously worked on projects for Viacom International networks AFRICA, MTV Base, and Rockstar400, including the infamous One8 project, which featured R.Kelly and eight other African talents. He collaborated closely with the organization’s West African Director to curate the experience and lead the launch activities in Burkina Faso, Chad, and Niger for Airtel. Sadiq has also served as an Associate Producer for the Vodafone 020Live music performance since its start, where he was in charge of talents and events.

Sadiq is also a politician who is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and served as the party’s tourism, arts, and culture spokesperson during the 2020 election campaign.
Sadiq is now pursuing a post-graduate LLB study in Ghana after graduating from the African University College of Communications (AUCC) with a degree in marketing communications studies.
