CAF disqualifies Chad from Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers:
The Confederation of African Football Association (CAF) has disqualify Chad from the remainder of the 2021 African Cup Of Nations qualifies.
Chad was to host Namibia on Wednesday and play at Mali on Sunday. The team was already out of contention to qualify for the final tournament in Cameroon next January and February.
The Les Sao were disqualified from African Cup of Nations qualifying on Monday because the country’s government dissolved the soccer federationand CAF has cited this development as inference from Government.
Football’s governing bodies have strict rules in place which punish political involvement in national football federations.
“Following the suspension of the Chadian Football Federation by the Chadian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Caf has decided to disqualify the national team of Chad from the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2021,” a Caf statement said.
Already-qualified Mali now lead Group A with 13 points from five matches, with Guinea second on eight points from four games.
