2023 AFCON qualifiers: Cape Coast Stadium to host Ghana vs Madagascar

The Cape Coast Stadium have been approved by the confederation of African Football (CAF)  to host Ghana’s Cup of Nations qualifiers first Leg Encounter Against Madagascar.

CAF rejected the GFA’s request to play the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Baba yara Sports Stadium after the edifice failed to meet their criteria from Africa’s football governing body, a stadium which was earlier approved by FIFA to host Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.

The Black Stars will return to Cape Coast in June for the opening game of the Nations Cup qualifiers against Madagascar, and the venue will also host games against the Central Africa Republic and Angola.

Ghana will begin their AFCON qualifiers on June 1st against Madagascar, before travelling to CAR for their second match in Group E.
