I am not Happy with the Special Prosecutor, he is Hunting me and the NDC-Felix Ofosu Kwakye

The former Minister of Information Felix noOfosu Kwakye, has made public his displeasure about how the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu is carrying out his work.

Speaking about the fight against corruption ahead of election 2020 on TV3 on Saturday, Mr Ofosu Kwakye insisted Mr Martin Amidu appears to target members of the opposition National Democratic Congress whom he has some form of vendetta with whilst corrupt members of the NPP are walking freely on the street.

” I am not pleased with the Office of the Special Prosecutor. I have problem with how he is carrying out his work. It appears that the president only choose someone who have personal vendettas with some members of the NDC. He is acting with malice against the the members of the NDC”, he lamented.
With regards to the essence of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, Mr Felix Ofosu Kwakye suggested that the OSP is the most useless institution ever created in the history of Ghana. He argued that because the choice of the office of the special prosecutor was not well thought out but done with the intention of targeting or hunting only the opposition members, it has reflected in the delivery of the special prosecutor.

“The office of the Special Prosecutor is the most useless institution. There is no functional necessity of the Office of the special prosecutor. Perhaps all we should have done was to give more resources to the Attorney General. The performance of the Special Prosecutor is a vindication of the position of the National Democratic Congress. The Attorney General could have handled issues of corruption without creating a new office. We don’t have to always create institutions for every problem”, he argued
The special prosecutor has not been able able to prosecute any major corruption related issues. He used to seek refuge in the media to complain bitterly about how members of the Akufo Addo’s government were frustrating him and putting obstacles on his way.

It appears he has been muzzled to keep quiet just as many outspoken individuals.
